The Blackjack is a great priced cell phone with a competitive collection of useful and fun features. It is ready for music with Stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and Windows Media Player Mobile.
The Samsung Blackjack is a good travel companion as well, since it is a quad band EDGE/ GPRS phone and is 3G compatible. Unfortunately, this phone is not Wi-Fi enabled and displays WAP or web pages designed for mobile devices only.
This multimedia cell phone has a camera, can capture and display video and plays music. It has a 1.3 mega pixel camera and plays MP3, WMA, AMR-NB and AAC music files and MPEG4, H.263 and WMV video files.
This phone however does not seem to support album art or FM radio. But it does support AT&T music, so it can stream music.
The cell phone has excellent voice text features. It supports all types of text messaging, including SMS, MMS and Yahoo, AOL and MSN IM. The Blackjack also includes useful basic phone functions like conferencing calling, and voice dialing.
The Samsung Blackjack can display WAP Internet pages, supports browser based and POP3/ IMAP email and syncs with Outlook. It uses Microsoft Direct Push for real time push email. However, it cannot connect by Wi-Fi and does not support complex, full version web pages.
The cell phone can display Microsoft documents and it comes with Microsoft ActiveSync. With this mobile phone you can view any document created with Microsoft Office from 97 through 2003. We are not sure whether it is compatible with Microsoft Word 2007. Of course you can also sync your contacts, calendars and email with your Outlook account through either USB or Microsoft Exchange Server.
There is also a variety of software avialable for the Samsung Blackjack through third-party providers. In addition, it can run many programs that are designed for Mircrosoft Mobile.
This cell phone is about average height and width, but is thin at a half of an inch and light, less than four ounces. With a microSD memory card it can handle up to 2 GB of memory. Its battery lasts a bit longer than usual, five and half hours of general use. We would have liked to see a bigger screen since this one is only 2.2 inches.
The Samsung Blackjack gets wow points for being a great all-around phone that strikes a good balance between entertainment and work for a low price.
We think Samsung has done a good job at satisfying the demand for a business cell phone that can double as a media device.
