Though the HTC Touch isn’t available in the U.S. yet, it speculated that it will make an appearance in the American market by late 2008. This may be the iPhone’s best rival. Here’s the information we’ve gathered about the Touch thus far:
The Touch has a 2 mega pixel camera that will capture both still and video images. It also has an integrated MP3 player so you can take your favorite tunes with you on the go.
We didn’t find any indication that the Touch has a video/music organizing application, album art or supports streaming video. However, we may find out closer to the release date that this handheld has these applications and more.
The Touch communicates through a Quad Band network making it a great phone for travel overseas. The phone has 3-way calling, speaker phone and voice dialing. You can also send SMS and MMS messages.
The HTC Touch will connect to other devices and the Web through Wi-Fi, EDGE and Bluetooth.
The Touch has a personal information management application that includes a calendar, calculator, alarm clock and more. Additionally, it will support 3rd-party software so you can customize your phone to fit your needs and lifestyle.
The HTC Touch is quite small for having an interactive touchscreen—it’s only half an inch thick. It has a headphone jack, USB port and a memory expansion slot so you can increase the memory to store more media and data
All of the user interaction is through a touch screen—similar to that of the iPhone. The Touch is sleek phone with a large screen. The one complaint was the size of the QWERTY keyboard. The letter are so small, a stylus is required to type.
The price of the Touch hasn’t been announced yet but it will be available through T-Mobile.
